Some manufacturers, before making a claim of conformity to the EMC Directive and affixing a CE Mark, choose to have their product assessed by a qualified independent third party. These third parties are called Notified Bodies and they are appointed by national government authorities in each European member state.
AMTRE VERITAS STANDARD TECHNICAL TESTING LTD is a Notified Body for the EMC Directive and can assess claims of conformity to the Directive on behalf of manufacturers. Successful claims of conformity submitted for assessment are then supported by a written Notified Body opinion from AMTRE VERITAS STANDARD TECHNICAL TESTING LTD.
This written opinion can be useful for manufacturers who choose to prepare their own evidence of conformity to the EMC Directive and want the extra security of a third party opinion. NEW EMC Directive
On the 20th July 2007 the European EMC Directive (89/336/EEC) changed and all pre-existing legislation was replaced. The changes within the NEW EMC Directive (2004/108/EC) will affect the way manufacturers manage and maintain European EMC Compliance for both new and existing products.
To help manufacturers address the challenges posed by these changes in legislation, AMTRE VERITAS STANDARD TECHNICAL TESTING LTD has developed a number of new European Compliance services.
